My therapist made a really good point today. You can't allow negativity to fester around you. Remove it. Don't give the negativity power over you by letting it in & letting it stay. Your mental health is your house, & negativity, toxicity, etc are just unwelcome visitors that you can throw out. Sure you're still going to think about it, but that lingering negativity is nowhere as bad as having it there with you all the time. Kick the negativity out of your house. Let the negativity go, & give yourself the ability to move away from it.
